Some background on importing games, why to do it and how to play them. My favourite places to buy games are Play-Asia.com and eBay.

Loved Rez! Had no idea it was released on the Dreamcast prior to the PS2, though. :\ Good to know.

@oss29 So you bought a Neo-Geo from another region, plugged it in and it doesn’t turn on anymore?

It could be the power supply or something else on the console, I’m not sure if it’s fixable…

    Dear Finngamer,

I love your videos!!! I aspire to be you, man! I’ve already collected about 10 Collectors editions, importing the ones I cant get locally and paying quite high prices for rare ones, I know its not a lot but I will have much more in the near future. What you do is just awesome! Stay as awesome as you are man!

@mountainflames I keep the door closed in the gameroom, so it doesn’t gather dust like the rest of the house.

I do have a “normal” house otherwise, so I wouldn’t give up my gaming room for anything. ;)

  11. collecting tips

I once had a large game collection (around 15 ps1 games and 3 gamecube games, although one was missing its instruction booklet and box), it was starting to get to me after a while…all the CLUTTER!!!!
Finngamer, does it ever drive you mental when all you see is wall to wall of games collecting dust. You have a decent collection but are there not days when you would rather have a space that was fresher and breezy with pehaps a photograph on the wall and a nice emulsion like say “eggshell blue”.

@usmc6139 heres a tip for you my friend, don’t always buy games brand new, if you can wait a while for it to fall down in price, then you will saving alot of money, but if its a collectors edition of a game, try and get it as soon as possible, because you don’t know how limited they are, and if you wait to long you’ll probably never one ever get one, hope I helped.

@MokotoFuchikoma You can use a mod chip or a swap disc. Google tells more. :)

Hey finngamer, do you know how to play NTSC games on a PAL ps1? Thanks :P

@finngamer Yeah it seems that there is some kind of piracy protection on it – I have just ordered a mini SNES so that I can play NTSC games. Will be a nice addition to my collection!

Do you know if FFIII does the same when using the other universal adapter? There is another one that sticks into the PAL SNES and is made to play US Games, any idea?

@MonsterHunterThulak I had that problem on this adapter as well, the menus come and go. Just try it many times, you should see them eventually.

Be warned though, the lenghty ending sequence cuts short on several adapters as well.

I’m tearing my hair out here!?

I’m using a PAL SNES and I’m using a Universal Adapter (like the one you show in the video) to play the US version of Final Fantasy 3 but there is region protection on it and none of the damn menus appear!

    HELP!? Any suggestions???

@majorlinkmask A mod chip is an alternative.

But maybe you should import the whole machine, they aren’t expensive anymore.
